Author Visits
Author Visits: Presentations are tailored to the grade level of our audience. We present an indoor program followed by an outdoor alphabet hunt using cameras where possible. For K-2nd grade, we read the poems, show natural props shaped like letters of the alphabet, and do alphabet searches using photo hand-outs and a PowerPoint presentation. For 3rd-6th grade, we read from both the poetry and the naturalist notes and then discuss the research, writing, photography, and publishing processes.
Fees: Our presentation fee is $400 for a full day, $275 for a half day, plus mileage and overnight accommodations if necessary. We also ask that the book be offered for sale. Our fee is negotiable.
